This past Saturday, Alex was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It was a very special day, and we really felt the Spirit. Brian baptized him and then confirmed him and gave him the Gift of the Holy Ghost. He then gave him a very special blessing that we know will help Alex throughout his life.
We talked to Alex about the importance of baptism, and the covenants he would be making with our Heavenly Father. Then, we told him that because this was such an important decision, he needed to be the one to make it. We asked him to pray to Heavenly Father to see if this was what he should do, and he told us that after praying, he "felt good" about being baptized and receiving the Gift of the Holy Ghost. We are very proud of him for the decision he has made.
Brian's mom was able to come from Missouri, as well as our good friends, the Bunkers, from Salt Lake. He also had all of my family there, as well as a few neighobors and friends. We appreciate all of them and the love they have shown us--Alex was happy to have so many people there to support him.
