The Party

Because their birthdays are just 2 days apart, we opted to have a joint birthday party for Maya and Andrew this year. Andrew had the stomach flu, bronchiolitis, and 2 ear infections on his birthday, so we waited until Maya's birthday, May 4th, to have the festivities. We had family over for cake and ice cream, and the kids seemed to enjoy their day.


As you can see, Maya was scared to death of the candles on her cupcake, while Andrew wanted to grab his. We had to blow out his candle before we could get it close to him.

Here is Andrew enjoying his first taste of sugar. He didn't hesitate to rip apart his cupcake and dig in!

As many 3 year-olds do, Maya decided to lick off her frosting before eating the cake. She felt very special on her birthday and ran around the house shouting, "I'm THREE!" to anyone who would listen. She was definitely the birthday princess!
