The kids absolutely love the horses. They will come right up to the fence and let the kids pet them and feed them grass. There is also a dog that lives on the farm that has become McKenna's "pet". She will come to the fence and wait for McKenna to come out and pet her and scratch her belly. We have a dog run that came with the house, but why get a dog when we have built-in pets that we don't have to feed or take care of?! I think it's a win-win situation if you ask me, although I'm sure the kids would disagree. :) Another thing that we love about the yard is that there are big trees that line the back fence and the west side of the house, so it provides lots of shade--something we are particularly grateful for at this time of year.
It has been quite an eventful and stressful year for us. Between a job change for Brian, having a new baby, selling our home and moving 300 miles away, trying to get settled in a new area while dealing with a newborn and hormone changes, and buying a new home and moving again, we have had our plates very full. However, we feel very blessed to have our family and we are very fortunate to be where we are. We love this area and the kids are thriving and doing very well. We love our home and feel blessed to have it. We would also love visitors, so if any of you are ever in the area, let us know!
